The Big Skies festival is back in 2019!

Nestled in the foot-hills of the lush Bunya Mountains lies the picturesque town of Bell. Only a 20 minute drive from all the Big Skies action at Jimbour, Bell is perfect for a charming and relaxed day-trip.

Breakfast with the Birds at Bell

Wednesday 1 May
6am to 7am – Early Bird Breakfast
7.30am to 9am – Bird Watching
Bell Bunya Community Centre, Cnr Maxwell & Wallace Street, Bell
Admission: Breakfast – $10 per person (bookings essential), Bird Watching – Free (bookings essential)

As the sun comes up, meet at the Bell Bunya Community Centre and fill up with a hearty country breakfast before driving to a location close to town known best to locals. Enjoy a guided walk and experience our bird-life with local bird-watcher, Bernice Seton.

Please bring a chair, water, hat and sunscreen.

Bell High Tea and Tour of Biblical Gardens

Wednesday 1 May
10am to 12pm
Pips ‘n’ Cherries Cafe, 15 Ensor Street, Bell
Admission: High Tea – $18 per person (Annette’s Famous Pink Lemonade will also be available for purchase at only $2); Biblical Gardens Tour – Donation welcome

Enjoy a High Tea at Pips ‘n’ Cherries Cafe where chic meets country and everyone arrives as a guest and leaves as a friend.

Afterwards, with your appetite sated, stroll across the road to the Bell Biblical Gardens and spectacular interior murals of the Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. This project is a stunning example of community working together to produce something truly special. The gardens feature plants mentioned in the Bible and beautiful mosaics depicting the Twelve Stations of the Cross.

Bluebelles Gallery: ‘Big Skies’ Exhibition

Admission: FREE

Visit Bluebelles Gallery to see original works from local artists, themed around our region’s greatest drawcard, our Big Skies. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy great coffee, home-made scones and Bell’s signature Rosella Jam in the cafe while you’re there.
